We create customized after-school programming for all NYC public schools. We bring it all: the ingredients, cooking supplies, activities and more. The program incorporates  STEM- and CORE- focused hands-on culinary instruction that is all from-scratch! We create healthy recipes that kids can recreate at home for their families while learning about culinary history and culture and nutrition. Our trained educators create the kitchen in your classroom !

Our classes offer more than just cooking. They give students a chance to build independence, confidence, strengthen social-emotional skills, and develop healthy habits. .We handle everything from start to finish—bringing all the supplies and tools the kid chefs will need for each lesson. We can even bring ovens if your location doesn’t have any. This makes it easy for schools to offer meaningful enrichment programs without adding to their workload. We’ll create and provide flyers, manage registration, collect allergy information if you want us to also!  We will also talk about clean cooking and keeping a sanitized workstation that mimics how they keep desks clean in class.  Each class, no matter the theme, covers fundamental cooking techniques including peeling, breading, blending, melting, slicing, dicing, chopping and more. Kids work in teams for some of the class and independently for other parts of the recipe. Each student makes enough of a recipe to eat and taste as well as take some home if your location permits. Here are some of the programs we currently have in rotation:

Cook a Book

We use books as our inspiration for cooking! Books like Rainbow Fish, Strega Nonna, Marci Makes Mochi and more help us to incorporate culture and heritage into the food we will be cooking. We will examine new ingredients and flavors and talk about what we see, smell, feel and taste!

Cooking the Seasons

We will start a culinary club garden and tend to it at each season. We wil then examine whats in season with a bounty from the farmer’s market and feel, smell and taste each item. Then we will cook up a seasonal dish to enjoy ourselves and take some home. Recipes include pumpkin muffins, spaghetti squash with brown butter sauce, seasonal nut free pesto, sweet potato gnocchi, zucchini chocolate cookies, carrot bread, cinnamon pop tarts, apple strudel and more!

Cupcake Club

For the baking focused afterschool club - this course focuses on the fundamentals of baking and builds on technique every week. We’ll start with batters and then move onto dough work and finally sponge cake.

Weeknight Meals After School

Kids will learn to make dinners they can replicate at home, developing knife skills and cooking techniques. These are dinners that fill the plate with all the essential nutrients and focus on healthy grains, proteins and all the colorful vegetables of the season. Meals like spaghetti and meatballs, homemade veggie and chicken nuggets, tofu pad thai and more are on the menu!

Plant Based: Taste the Rainbow

Our kid chefs will learn how nature works to give us all we need and how the addition of spices and herbs can transform food and provide added nutritional benefits too. Each class will highlight an herb or spice including basil, rosemary, garlic, vanilla, and cinnamon! We’ll taste, touch and smell, talk about what we are experiencing and use what we like in our plant based recipes like black bean sliders, homemade cheez-its, pop tarts, tacos and more!

Cooking Around the World

A roster of globally influenced recipes are brought to life by our kid chefs as we dive into a geography lesson about the country we are cooking from. Sushi, ramen, lasagna, tikka masala, goulash and more have all been a hit!

STEAM Cooking

Our food science program is a popular one that brings science to life and on the plate. We will explore and investigate different cooking methods, scientific reactions with ingredients, discuss how things like pizza crusts actually get crispy and why does boba taste so chewy! Then, we will cook and taste our way through it all!

We look forward to cooking with you!
