FAQs

What should kids wear?

Comfortable clothing that they can freely move around in. We will provide aprons and everything else they will need!

What age must kids be to participate in cooking classes?

"Parents and me" classes are designed for children ages 3 and up. All other cooking classes are designed for children ages 5 and up. All groups will be broken down by age. See our class descriptions.

Would a cooking  party be fun for boys?

Of course! Most famous chefs are actually male after all, right? Our classes are tons of fun for girls and boys alike.

Can I have a cooking party for my child where there will be guests of varying ages invited?

Yes, we will work with you to design a party that is age appropriate for all your guests from the youngest to the oldest.

Are you a nut free facility?

No.  But, any nuts that are on site are stored in enclosed containers.  All pans, pots, bowls, etc. are run through our washing machine. In our classes, most recipes we select allow the option of including or excluding nuts and we set up for each child accordingly.  For birthday parties, ALL our recipes are nut free.

Do you accomodate children with dietary restrictions?

We try to accommodate children with allergies such as dairy, sesame, soy, etc.  Please let our staff know of any allergies or dietary restrictions when you register your child and we will always try to find a substitution for the student unless the recipe restricts it.   At each booking, be sure to provide allergy information, and make sure to update it as necessary. Please also indicate the severity of the allergy (for example, whether a child can be around the relevant food, and whether ingredients processed on shared equipment or in a shared facility are okay). If you have questions or concerns about particular recipes or ingredients that we use, give us a call and we would be happy to find a safe class for your child.

Can I send a snack with my child?

No, we do not allow any outside food in our space. For the safety of our students, we need to minimize the risk of cross contamination (particularly with respect to nuts).

Do the kids eat what they make at the end of class?

Yes. We generally reserve time at the end of class to enjoy what we made. We suggest thinking of it as more of a snack than a meal, particularly for one hour classes.

Do the kids get the recipe?

Yes, we send kids home with the recipe(s) so they can get cooking at home! And with repeated classes, kids get to build their own cookbooks over time!

What can I expect at an adult cooking class?

We are focused on providing an entertaining and educational hands-on experience.  Most of our adult classes are Bring Your Own Bottle.  Please refer to the class description for more details.

What if I have never cooked before?

Our classes and events are set in a relaxing environment and are specifically geared to many skill levels ranging from beginner to more advanced cooks. So don't worry - there's something for everyone.

What should I wear for adult class?

Just comfortable clothing that you can freely move around in. We will provide the aprons and everything else you need.

What happens if a class is cancelled?

If we must cancel a class or event you will have a credit in the amount of your original purchase price. If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, we will contact the students registered and arrange a credit. If a class is canceled due to inclement weather we can't always reschedule for a date that meets all the students schedules so we will issue a credit for the cost of the class and you can reschedule at your convenience.

Class participation policy

Unless specified otherwise, classes are drop-off– only. We must know

who is authorized to pick-up your child from class. A class listed with caregiver includes one adult

per child in the registration. No surprise visitors please.

Adult class registration is per person (and occasionally per couple). The more the merrier, so sign up with a friend and remember to BYOB (wine, beer, soft drink...).
